Catching up with blogging + project life

Hello Peeps.

Some instagram update.

From my desk this morning....

Tried a new sleeve by Becky Higgins for my instagram photos. I love it! Especially with the new app from 'A beautiful Mess', I dont think I need to embellish the photos. YAY!

As you can see, massive amount of photos to PL. I sometimes find it so cluttering to hv so many photos but BUT there is so much to capture. Oh who cares....this project is for me!! *winks*

And just to wind down the busy schedule, sometimes lunch is the only time I hv to gather some thoughts. This book is so speaking to me right now, just carrying it everywhere I go, just in case if I can slip in a few minutes to read. Highly recommended. Lisa Bevere, you have a new fan! Love!

And back to work. Took some time off to blog. Have an awesome mid week!!

Project Life Week 16 & 17

Hello dear friends. Welcome back to my blog, I wonder if I have any readers. LOL! Do I?

Well regardless of readers, I've been blogging since 2008..it has always been my outlet of expression. I must say ever since I started blogging about my crafty passion, I rant less. LOL a good sign.

Anyways. Here's my completed PL spreads.

Week 16: A quieter week, recovering from S'wak trip.

Week 17: Reorganized my wardrobe and gave away quite a fair bit of clothes. So it was time for a makeover..............Shopping time! YAY! and a fantastic Faith Seminar in church. :)

Dug out my old Making memories Kraft sticker words, fairly untouched pack. Glad it fits so well with PL! Loving the Washi embellishment like, just a little bit but not too much. :)

Will post week 18 tomorrow. I am still so in love with Project Life.

Photo Ratio
Iphone 28:28 (man, im so in love with you!!)

Have a great week lovelies.

The darkest night in 2013

The general elections for Malaysia on May 5th was the dirtiest to the core.

My heart aches so badly at our lost. Same ruling government for the last 55 years (corrupted idiots), milking away our resources and cheating their way to elections. I am terribly sore.

Out of 10M+ people who casted their votes, 5.4M+ belongs to opposition verses 5.2M with the ruling government BUT yet, the ruling government won Parliament seats. Now that is democracy for a corrupted government...Poor Malaysia.

To all Malaysians, Kudos for your bravery to stand up against Phantom voters, indelible ink, bribery, disunity, racism.....and many more mind boggling dirty tactics that has been thrown at us.

Malaysia is my country. I will not bad mouth it because the problem lies with the government. I love Malaysia, I love Penang & I am so proud of us Penang.

UNITED we STAND!

-----------------------------------------

A few photos captured yesterday.

Left home at 7.05 am to hv breakfast then to vote.

Arrived 8.05am at my polling area. Queue started outside the school. A lot of early bird voters. Seriously, was happy to see a queue...responsible M'sians doing their duty.

9.00am. Duty completed. It was liberating to exercise my rights. Happy and HOPEFUL!

After which, I spent the morning & afternoon with my parents....then I went home to prepare snacks for the night's telecast with Aaron's family. My sis in law made Choc Fudge pudding for dessert.

Let us not loose hope for what is unseen but let Faith arise in the unseen for this Nation is changing. Greater things have yet to come.

Have a blessed Monday!

With Love. xoxo

Double post today? YAY!

Hello again. I found some time to craft last night due to a cancelled meeting. I attempted to scraplift a card from Cindy Lee, she is just one talented cardmaker/scrapbooker/crafty girl, she inspires me so more and at times pushes my boundaries on crafting. Thank you girl. I love you!

So whatdya think? :) Quite 'pirates of the caribbean' eh? *winks*

New Love for Moriah Peters

I am totally sold when it comes to young woman of God, making their stand & writing beautiful music.

Only 20 years of age, but her passion for Jesus is mega attractive.

I love her modest fashion sense, isnt she a cutie?

Enjoy this beautiful song. I purchased 2 of her songs from Itunes  Still considering if I should get the whole album. :) Inspiring indeed!

"Well Done"

I'm headed down this narrow road
Chosen by the few
And all that I know is
You told me to follow You

I'm taking a risk and leaving it all
Not knowing what I'll go through
But I'm not alone
As long as I follow You

So when my life's a leap of faith
I can hear You say

Well done, well done
I'm gonna chase You, Lord
I'm gonna show the world Your love, whoa

I'll run, I'll run
I'm gonna run this race
To hear You say well done

If people walk with me, talk with me, looking for truth
They're gonna find out soon
If they're following me, then they're gonna follow You

So let my life speak loud and clear
Lord, I wanna hear

Well done, well done
I'm gonna chase You, Lord
I'm gonna show the world Your love, whoa

I'll run, I'll run
I'm gonna run this race
To hear You say well done

I'm so glad that I get to serve You, Lord
You're the only One I'm living for, whoa
And I'm gonna run straight into Your open arms
I'm gonna follow You with my whole heart, whoa, whoa

Well done, well done
I'm gonna chase You, Lord
I'm gonna show the world Your love, whoa

I'll run, I'll run
I'm gonna run this race
To hear You say well done

I'm gonna run this race
To hear You say well done
I'm gonna run this race
To hear You say well done
Well done

Project life week 13

Gosh, super delayed I know....

I have a tight and busy schedule. LOL, Seriously....after I started documenting  Project Life, only then could I see what a busy girl I am.

Weekends are the most hectic. Having nothing on, on Saturdays and weeknights is a bonus to me. Having a public holiday is like a super super bonus, that's if the day is free for me to explore.

None the less, God gives me supernatural strength to carry on what HE has called me to do. Cardmaking and Layouts are luxuries for me at this point in time.... :)

Project Life Week 10

Week 10 was a beautiful week!

We were preparing for our weekend away in Sarawak, Malaysia. A lot of bonding moments, I must say it was a very colorful weekend.

Where do I even begin? All I know is Kingdom Dancers is so blessed. Answering God's call is the most fulfilling thing in life, I dare not even imagine what it could have been if I had shun away.....oh gosh.

As you can tell, I don't PL everyday, I documented one picture from the weekday and the rest of the pics are from the weekend. As it is, week 10 already took up 3 spreads. On some weeks, I may feel like detailing the itsy bitty stuff, and so I follow my heart to do that. Just remember....NO rules.

Week 10:: Spread 1

Week 10:: Spread 2

Week 10:: Spread 3

I phone ratio : 25/27
DSLR ratio: 1/27

I love my iphone, I love Project Life. A beautiful combo. Have a great weekend!

Project Life week 8 & 9.

Woohooo, finally caught up.

I love how simple it is to play catch up to project life. Simple rule of thumb is to snap a ton of photos, and sort it out by having a monthly folder. Works like butter for me.

Week 8, only a single spread. Definitely a bitter week. The sunshine of this week is getting to meet our friends, and it was beautiful to catch up. :)

Week 9:
Spread 1

Just a simple week with a lot of eating & hanging out with beautiful people.

Spread 2
Photo overloaded. What happens when its a girls night out? We dress up, Laugh, chit chat & snap tons of pictures. Super love. All photographs taken on the same day.

No rules to PL, a whole spread on a single day? Totally acceptable. LOL!

And peeps, guess what? With week 9 completed, I'm finally back on track. Week 10 is an exciting week, cant wait to PL!!

Have a great weekend,

xoxo

Project Life Week 7

It was an interesting week.

This week in particular I was debating if I should Project life then Aaron told me to go ahead, to document the 'not so good' weeks.

It is easier to document when we are having fun & being happy but what if we're suddenly exposed to being vulnerable? Not only picture taking becomes a drag, even journalling in an open album becomes a drag.

On the 2nd day of CNY, we had a lot of fun, started our day early with a nice breakfast...then it was to the cinema for another dose of Les Mis, this time around we were singing to almost every song. LOL, irritating u might think....but it was just so much of fun for us.

The day just progressed with lunch and we finally headed home. It is then that we received an alarming FB msg from our dearest friend that her husband had collapse & their wedding dinner (which was 2 nights later) is cancelled. Deep down, I was feeling very disturbed and I tried calling her many times but unfortunately I could not get hold of her. Close to evening, I finally got a text from her, and we manage to set up a tentative date to meet that night, after my dinner @ Batu Feringhi. Long story short, we didnt meet that night...so I told her I'll meet her at the hospital after lunch.

Next day came, I walked into the ICU to look for her, there he was, Ben lying beside a lot of machines, heavily sedated. A neuro surgeon was there explaining the MRI taken....and then the surgeon broke the news, Ben was in critical condition. An overwhelming swift of sadness swept me, my eyes were swelling with tears but I controlled because I needed to be there for her. I just held her hand & we listen attentively to the surgeon. Ben needed to be operated, his brains were swelling and they need to cut the skull to remove the pressure.

After the surgeon left, we went by Ben's side and prayed.
Su was devasted but hopeful.

All this happened on Wednesday. 3rd day of CNY.

The days to follow, we were spending most of our time at the ICU, giving support to Su & praying hard for Ben. In fact we had people praying for him from London, Australia, Singapore, Penang, KL. Ben's condition was still critical & unstable. The clot in his brain still remain untouched.

Come Sunday evening on Su's birthday (17th Feb), Ben was very critical. She was rushing to the hospital close to 10pm. We arrived at 11pm. Doctors said, they have done everything they can, Ben was brain dead. Standing in the ice cold ICU, listening to the doctor's words, watching Su & wondering how is she going to digest all this. I felt helpless. I just prayed.

Doctors encourage the family members to spend the night with Ben, as he may not make it thru the morning.

As I was walking to the foot of Ben's bed, Su with tears streaming down her face looked at me and ask "Sharon, what do I do now?" At that moment, it was as if a dagger just pierced thru my heart. My mind was blank.....

The only thing we could do was pray. Thats what we did. A few things happened after that and we left the hospital about 2.30am.

At 8.17 monday morning, Ben passed away. May his soul rest in peace.

Following that Ben's cremation was on Wednesday. Totally shocked by the turned of event. If we ourselves can be so shocked, I can only imagine what Su must be going thru. I know Su has inspired many people, her faith in God is so strong, even to the very end she was very composed because she knows that her God is in control.

If you are reading this post, do say a prayer for Su.

I guess thats all from me now.

So back to the PL spreads, Aha, photo overloaded. Very simple pictures taken from my iphone, photo taking has never been easier. :)

Not much of embellishment going on here, but I like it simple.

Project life Week 5

Yee ha. I'm back with Project Life updates!!

It is week 5, and I'm still in love with this project. :)

The only thing challenging about this project, is photographing it. Anybody with any good tips to share?

Page 1: Oh my gosh, Les Mis, what an AWESOME musical. To think that I almost missed it. And and a new found attraction to Hugh Jackman...LOL. He played Jean Valjean so well...all those emotions... and off set, he is such a humble man (watch numerous interviews...LOL). Les Mis, I am a huge fan. As in HUGE!!! What a message to remember....."to love another person is to see the face of God"

Page 2: In love with the new direction of my online shop. Excited to see what 2013 will be like for "I am Rose of Sharon". Week 5 - back to Jazz Class (Super YAY!) It has been an exciting week. February you are starting right. :)

February the month of Love. Let us spread that love. :)

February Already?

Is it just me, or is time moving faster?

It seems like we just celebrated the new year, and its already February? Scary eh. I cant help but be thankful that I'm project life-ing each passing week. Almost completed week 5 and I'm loving it more and more. Aha, more like super in love with PL. :)

Well February started out at the right foot for me. We finally launched 'I am rose of Sharon' (http://iamroseofsharon.blogspot.com). Previously known as Greeen Bananas (http://greeen-bananas.blogspot.com) from 2008, I am proud to say that we have re-branded our online shop to a new direction.

Yippie Yi Yi!

Got my lovely name card printed...designed by the talented Josie Teh.

I pray that this rebranding will be a beautiful journey. Cant wait to see what God has installed for us in this area.

Spent my saturday afternoon in Starbucks working hard to prepare for the launching. Deep in concentration & a cuppa Hojicha Tea to keep me company.

My beautiful models, Sneak of my editing process. :) I was getting so excited by just prepping the photos......lovely feeling.

Do drop by our blog or Facebook (http://facebook.com/IamRoseOfSharon).

Thanks all from me now. I'll be back tomorrow to update my PL Week 5.

Project Life week 4

Dearest Friends,

As promised, am back with PL week 4. I was thankful to have Monday off, so I took this opportunity to document my week 4. Boy was it a fun week. I didnt include all the pictures, if not it would have overflowed to a 3rd spread....just wanted it to be a 2 page spread.

So,so.

Both pages came by so quickly with the super cute invites. I just re sized it to 3x4 and printed it out on photo paper.

Page 1: Pinkish/purplish tone. I love how girlie this page is.

Page 2: Loving the blues & yellows. The colors were very inspiring to work with and loving the "starry" accent.

Oh and I had to include a picture of 'the impossible' because it was such a beautiful movie. 15 mins into the movie, I was crying to the end. Truly it was the hand of God that reunited this family again. Rising above the storms.

Alrighty peeps. I gotta get back to work.Have a beautiful midweek!!

Project Life Week 3

Good Morning lovely friends,

Yesterday was replacement holiday for us folks in Malaysia, and I manage to complete week 4 of Project life. Shall update it tomorrow. :)

In week 3, we celebrated grandpa's 86th. What a blessing to have them around. We had come cooked meal (all grandpa's favorite dishes), and it was swell of a time. So glad I had a chance to document it.

Family.

Every picture has a story. :)

Spend some good quality time with the boys, Raul & Mikhail and with Uncle & Aunty. Also it was our first time attending SUARAM dinner. We had a great time in KL.

Have a great week!!

Project Life Week 1 & Week 2

As I mentioned before, I'm on the bandwagon for Project life 2013. Up to date I have completed 3 weeks of documenting. Good job Sharon!!

I have always loved photographs and I am thrilled to be doing project life. I've been reading blogs after blogs & stalked instagrammers about PL so much that when 2013 came, I just knew how to PL. LOL, insane but true.

Being a beginner, I just bought the page protectors and some PL inserts, no album, no corekit. That being said, I am really considering Seafoam (If I get the kit then I will explain why it means so much!)

I do not PL daily, but I find that weekly works a lot for me, documenting Highlights of each week...and so far January 2013 has been really really eventful!!!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

My most favorite page for now. It was so simple to put this together, the pictures and journalling just did it all. Oh and that neon pink washi is my obsession!! hahah.

Week 1 pg2
Mostly highlights of our 3rd Anniversary celebration & a map to remember where we stayed.

Week 1 pg1
Still missing one photograph, but its ok, will fill it up. Tucked in some memorabilia.

And the start of it all. 2013!!!
I love everything about Project life, and I look forward to filling up my pockets every week.
Love, Love, Love!!!

Alright thats all from me now, will blog about week 3 soon.

xoxo

He is the Reason..

As we begin Advent... I am reminded that HE is the reason for this season.

So many things to be grateful for 2012 and it is only by the Grace of God that I got this far. :) Indeed I am blessed. This is my season of rejoicing.

Let us take some time to reflect on the things we're grateful for and also for the things we're least grateful.

Wishing all my lovely friends a Blessed Season.

God Bless.
