Workspace Wednesday // Washi Tapes

Featuring my washi tape collection. I think I have enough to last me a lifetime....oh dang.

Have you finished a roll of washi tape before? I certainly have not. LOL. I believe strongly that most crafters are hoarders too, we just like the idea of having something even when we don't need it. Bad, Bad.

Whats on your workspace today?

Pop up Market / Craft Market

I must apologise for not blogging the whole of last week. I was really busy preparing for my first craft stall. Yes my first, so you can imagine my excitement and also some uncertainty of what to expect. So after many many years of dreaming and wishing that I'll be brave enough to participate in a craft market, that day finally came.

The timing was perfect and I had a blast. The feeling was just so right, just a strong knowing that I'm at the right place. Thank you Jesus.

I had a really simple set up, no frills....just wanted my handmade cards to shine. As for now, the cards display is working but I would need to brainstorm for something that can hold more. Btw, I'm loving the natural lighting in this place.

Thank you Emili for purchasing some cards. It was so good to see you and baby Kai.  Happy camper. Yay!

If you are in Penang, do come by on Sundays to Hin Bus Depot from 11am-5pm for the pop up market. Lots of homemade food too, so come by for lunch or tea.

When the Ocean rise...

Oh the beauty of nature. One of the perks of living in an island is that we have beach access. I have always found the sound of waves to be therapeutic and calming. Staring into the big endless ocean makes my problem seem small and it magnifies our 'big big' God.

As I'm reading Psalm 34 today, one particular verse is standing out, verse 5...it says

"Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame."

So profound and yet simple. Those who look to him radiates, how awesome is that. I surely would love my life to radiate His love and goodness.

Whats in your heart today?

Satisfied.

It really has been a while since I made a layout. That satisfaction is amazing. I was really itching to create a LO and also to get back on Project Life.

Just a really simple LO, using some hexagon shapes as my background. Used some chipboard embellishments from Studio Calico, for a bit more added interest, I punched out tiny daisies in black.

And thats it. Simple and to the point. Keep em coming creative juices, YAY!

Monochromatic Love

So satisfied and happy with the above minimalist and monochromatic cards.

At first I thought it was way too simple and lacking some embellishments. When I completed the cards it was pass midnight, so I thought I'll sleep over it. This morning when I saw the cards again, I just loved it and decided to keep it as it is. I'm a happy girl.

Happy Mid week peeps. :)

On my desk today

Working on some Etsy updates. Adding on these cute Cupcake/Cake toppers, what a joy to work on them. Crafting makes me happy. Feeling all sunshine and rainbows although we just spent RM600 servicing our car. LOL. I truly believe that God is in control, so my heart is calm.

The glitter ones are really adorable. Im tempted to bake cupcakes and stick them all over. HaHa. It's an impulsive thought. I'm too lazy to clean up after baking.

Having a good Tuesday?

Made this over the weekend.

Gold and white theme for both frames. Simple and classy. :)

How do you like my cute little succulents? They made it to the first week, YAY! really hoping that they will keep growing....am cheering them on to hit the first month. I don't know why but they make me really happy. Anybody has the same connection to succulents?

Have a beautiful week ahead friends.

Bible Journaling

Hello Friday.

Today I'm exploring my heart with Psalm 63. It was speaking so much to me that I decided to decorate it. Just a cute velum sticker and a sticker word from Studio Calico.

Really happy that I got to explore my heart today. I truly admire King David's 'bare it all' attitude towards God. Oh what a genuine heart.

How was your day? Are you excited for the weekend?

Burn it Deep

Burn it deep, within my soul
New strength and fire O Lord.
Burn it deep, within my soul,
New zeal and fire O Lord.

Burn it deep, within my soul,
New strength and fire, it makes me whole.
Burn it deep, deep within my soul.

If you wondering what those words are, they are lyrics to the current song thats on repeat.

It is a song written in 1989 by Kent Henry. Relatively old song, so old I almost forgot it existed. Somewhere in my late teens, I heard this song and it somehow resinated in my spirit. Honestly I don't think I even fully understood the context of the lyrics......but it just resinated.

Fast forwarding 15 years....just a couple of weeks ago, I was searching for some songs on spotify and I came upon this particular song. I hit the play button and as soon as the first note came thru my car stereo, all the emotions and memories came crashing like a flood. I was so wrecked by the song, just like back then. Balling my eyes out worshipping him. What I didn't understand back then I did now. It was a simple prayer, asking Him to burn deep within my soul, so deep that no matter what circumstance I will not run far. True to His name, He kept his deal.

Totally grateful and thrilled I made that prayer. Today I know that there is an unquenchable hunger within me, a hunger for His presence, a hunger to be deeper in love. It was the perfect timing. I needed to be reminded of the supernatural strength that makes me whole. I needed to be reminded of the new zeal and new fire thats burning.

Do not underestimate the power of prayer. God remembers. He never forgets. Do not think that any prayer is too silly for Him. Coz what may seem silly to us is probably the best prayer.

Do you have any song that resinates within you? I encourage you to find out why.

It is definitely a great go to for gift cards, baby showers, love notes or even wedding favors.

Hin Bus Depot Sunday

Had a lovely Sunday.

We started our day with this scrumptious Nasi Padang. The cincaluk fish is the bomb, the caramelised onions just melts in your mouth. Oh so yum!

Nasi Padang Minang

We then made our way to Hinn Bus Depot for the Pop up Sunday Market. (This is one of my favourite hang out place)

Of course we couldn't resist taking some photos. This place is really quaint and artsy, totally up my alley.

Old looking walls has a lot of charm, so much of character in this old restored bus depot.

......and since it was a pop up market, we supported our local crafters and artist with their beautiful creations. Pictured below is a custom made necklace with a heart pendant. Ain't it cute? Thank you Aysha for this lovely piece. If you are interested to purchase some really cool looking affordable accessories, do check them out... B & C  (They ship worldwide too)

I got these cute succulents too. Hoping that this time it will survive and grow. The stall owner was really helpful...gave me some tips on how to care of them. You can check out chap4paul, he also custom makes beautiful terrarium.

It was a chillaxing Sunday with the perfect company. Leave us be, I think we can chat the whole day. It is also not about having empty talks but sharing the goodness of God and how we can live a life that inspires others. I am an advocate for having good company/friends, because we sow into each others life. Becareful of the bad seeds, they don't give life and they destroy.
1 Cor 15:33 says
Do not be misled: “Bad company corrupts good character.”

Prov 13:20
Walk with the wise and become wise, for a companion of fools suffers harm.

So dear friends, be wise, guard your hearts and Yes, choose your friends. Do you want friends who are life giving or life suckers?

This girl here, I love her....you have indeed inspired me in many ways.

How was your weekend?

Wishing you sunshine and rainbows on this brand new week. *hugss*

A baby card

Created something simple last night. Love love the color yellow on baby cards.

Just looking at the card makes me happy. Awwww, something so magical and beautiful about babies yea?

I am still waiting for our turn to conceive our bundle of joy. Waiting, waiting for the last 5 years. While waiting for our turn, He has been good to put a few god-children, nieces, nephew and even younger cousins into our life. They have been a joy.

Recently I learned that, He allows people with the same breakthrough which we prayed for (which we have NOT received YET) to cross our paths for a reason. It is not to aggravate or to compare ourselves, but rather to test if we can celebrate the breakthroughs and victories in other people's life. Some may ask, "Why would He do that?" I believe that He is more interested in our character building than what we can receive or give.

Being able to celebrate the victories and breakthroughs of others (especially the ones which we desire & want so badly - Yes I gotta emphasise that part) requires a genuine heart. A heart without jealousy, malice, anger..... A heart so full of God's love, a heart without comparison and a heart that is not judgemental.

Phew~ I admit, I definitely struggle. But I'm learning.... and readjusting my mindset so that I can have His heart in mine.

It is also good encouragement to be surrounded with people of your desired breakthroughs because, If God can bless them, He can surely bless us too. He is after all a good good Father and He only desires the best for us.

So chin up! Lift your eyes up for your desired breakthroughs are coming. Let us all have hearts that is exploding with His love and go on, try celebrating the victories of others, it is so so liberating.

I wish you Peace and Joy.

P/S: I would love to hear from you. :)

Soaking in...

Soaking in Psalm 102 and Matt 11:28-30.

Im having a good week, my heart is so full with His goodness. My heart is calm, and experiencing tremendous peace.

If you are going through a storm in your life, I would like to encourage you to hang in there. Keep your eyes on Jesus, not on the storm.

I am exhibit A, speaking from a point view of someone who almost drowned being overwhelmed by her circumstances. Is everything hunky dory now? absolutely not. So what changed? Having a renewed mindset and shifting focus from considering everything is a problem to embracing the journey. Was it overnight? Sad to say, it wasn't. It was daily reprogramming and on some low days, it was constant.

It takes time, but.. We need to make that decision. The decision to take the upper hand. The decision to rise above our self pity mode.

I encourage you to not give up. To keep moving forward and find the strength in your heart to be thankful for everything thats happening now. (yes, more so for the bad stuff)

Stand tall, be brave and live a life that inspires.

Love you.

I love you

Keeping it simple is my kinda eye candy at the moment. They call it the minimalist approach. :)

I will be creating more stuff in the coming weeks, so stay tune and hopefully you can tune in everyday for a daily dose of Sharon *winks*

Today has been a good day for me. A day of researching and planing out future actions for my career path. I won't be revealing too much and its still in consideration stage but whatever the outcome, I know that my 2016 will end with a BAM! I am hopeful God is on my side and He will give me the wisdom to carry out my plans.

My heart is full. What is your story today? *hugss*

Reflecting on where I stand

Hello Friends

Standing on these interesting tiles gave me a good reflection.

When we go through hardships, difficulties and trials, it may look like the chipped/discoloured/beaten up tiles. Interestingly enough, there are also the coloured tiles, those happy joyful moments in life. Whats amazing is, if the tiles are brightly coloured, our eyes draw attention on them even more.

When we look at them side by side, it gives so much more character and it actually looks pretty attractive.

It is definitely a good reminder for me, that trials and tribulations enhances the good seasons in our lives.

What are your thoughts? :)

On my Desk

Hello Hello

Currently working on a custom made guest book. Makes me happy to see pretty embellishments on my desk again.

I need to start making Layouts again or even attempting the 2nd half of Project Life. Yikes! Help!

Very often, my desk gets cleaned before I start on any projects or orders, but then it only takes 5 minutes to look like a creative hurricane came and went. LOL! In general are crafters messy people? hahah. Hard to tell. *winks*

Whats cooking on your desk? I would love to check your space out. Leave a comment.

Crafty Updates.

Officially mid year. So..... hello July of 2016.

Im excited to see what 2nd half of this year will look like. Yes I am so ready for you. *smiles*

Ok coming back to crafting, I made a daring move to open up my own Etsy shop to sell some handmade stuff. I have always wondered what its like to have a creative career option but was kinda afraid. After much much encouragement from my husband, I decided to go for it. I will blog about my experience and process in another post.

For today, I wanted to showcase some personalised gifts I made for some custom orders. Each one is unique and tells a different story, I am so glad to be apart of this creative process. Truly. So thankful.

The frames above was a mothers gift to the boy's grandmothers. The blank space was left intentionally to stamp his foot print. What a cute and thoughtful gift right? I love it.

Life Updates continued...

Picking up from yesterday....

Previously I was a software engineer + a technical writer for a large multinational company till November of 2014.

I have since then ventured into tiny paths of earning some pocket money.

I have always been passionate about dancing, it is almost second nature to me, and ever since I was 19, I was already leading a dance team. So for almost half my life, I have been dancing! Wow. Seems freaky phrasing it like that. LOL!.

Rewinding to early March this year, a friend asked if I would be interested to teach dance as an after school activity in an International School. I was totally apprehensive at first but then I could do with a little extra cash *winks*, so almost reluctantly.....I said yes .... submitted resume and I got in. Yup cheers to new adventures & pushing new boundaries.

I taught for a full semester. YAY!

Cheeky monsters. Its a lot of work trying to coordinate everybody to dance.... but I adore them. :)

Mid year of 2016

Ha Ha Ha Ha. Im so tickled by the header of this post. What a way to begin blogging in 2016. I'm funny like that. *winks*

So maybe some updates will be good ya?

Lets see, in no particular order, and random updates... ;)

I have been a home maker for the last 19 months. While it has been a dream of mine to take this bold step, it has been challenging in every aspect. Dreams requires sacrifices, and sometimes to the point where you start questioning if this is what I bargained for. Interestingly enough, in the midst of trying to get a foothold of things.......confusion sets in....then doubts & fears begin to creep in.....drowning in self pity and negativity becomes a norm.

Thats when it strikes a chord, do I want to remain like this (high chances of spiralling down further) or look up! Lift your eyes up and catch that glimmer of light and hope.

I will op for the second option just because my life has a purpose and a reason and truth be told, I have not even begin to scratch the surface of living a life that is full of legacy to leave behind.

We humans tend to focus on the things we don't have and what we cannot do. Seriously, there is enough negativity in our world, shouldn't we balance it out or even better, tip the freaking scale?

In the last 19 months, I have invested so much time with my family and friends, just bonding and being in the moment. Life has been very very spontaneous, sometimes a little too spontaneous for my comfort...but I think it is all temporary and maybe, maybe just for this season. In retrospect, I have many things to be thankful for. Many.

Engine's warmed up. Lets go!

Since crafting is my passion. I'm just gonna go all out, I should be revealing my good news in November. :)

Here's a card order I made, two days ago. Oh how I've missed piecing things together....it makes my heart smile. Thank You God for making a way for me.

I guess this blog won't be dusty anymore. *winks*

Take care.

Embracing Change

Sometimes a really good time out is needed. Time to readjust, realigned
and to reprioritised.

In this pass 11 months, I have learned that change is inevitable and in material if we're for it or not. In most cases, people are often not keen unless change is favourable to their circumstances.....technically that makes a whole lot of sense right? But in the real world we're put into situations which requires
C H A N G E.

I've come to realise that Change is much harder for adulthood. We each have created our own belief system, developing our own patters and mind set. So it is definitely not easy to pluck oneself out from the old into a new territory.

While it is tough as poop, it is not impossible, we just need to shift our perspective view cam, to surrender the fear of the unknown and trust that God has the upper hand in every situation.

C H A N G E requires us to look inward (not in a selfish way) but to really dig deep within to answer those touchy questions. Change happens from within, which then translates to the renewal of mind, after that we will be able to embrace C H A N G E gracefully. It will then no longer have power to punch us in the face But it will work for our advantage. As strange as it sounds, there is no growth unless Change happens. With the right attitude and mindset, Change will lead us to bloom and blossom.

I have Jesus to thank for revealing this beautiful truth. The process of being uprooted is painful as hell but I'm glad we're being moulded to becoming vessels for His Kingdom.

Have a great day.

This could be it. :)

Hello hello peeps,

Blessed Chinese New Year to all those celebrating. I have decided to give home mani another shot (like after 1000 failures).  I think I may have found the secret answer.....you just gotta invest in a good nail polish. Duhhh!! Don't forget the base coat and topcoat too.

This tiny bottle (5ml) of Sephora is made in France,  cost me RM26 but I sure can get a lot of use. The photo below was taken this morning, single coat and after 4 days, it still shines and no chips yet. I am super please with the results. YAY! Happy girl!! And and, I think this could be my signature color. *winks* its a deep red, definitely looks darker in person.

2 thumbs up! :)

To make some minor comparison,  the nail polish below is from Rimmel London (drugstore quality), it was slightly lumpy and it wasn't glossy. Both colors were pretty similar, but hands down, Sephora wins. :)

I may slowly review some nail polishes, maybe monthly swatches. No promises, but I'm digging the home manicure...for now. :)

Have a great week.

Moving forward to 2015.

Hello friends. Quite a late posting on 2015...but why not right?

2014 was a really interesting year, I would say a year of 'extremes'? So many breakthroughs yet equally as many challenging moments.

It is said that with trials or testing comes great testimonies. Indeed I can testify to that truth, 2014 a year of many many beautiful testimonies. My God is a great and faithful God.

What are your goals in 2015?

For me, I know its gonna be another victorious year. (Yippie Yi Yi)
I believe we are all different stars shining. There is no competition in shining, shine at your own pace. We do not need to dampen another's light, together we can shine thru the darkness.

*hugssss*

Advent, a beautiful season.

It seems almost unfair that one of our favourite season....called Advent, passing by so quickly. Well it is the 11th day....and christmas is merely 2 weeks away. Gosh that is really really fast. In all the hustle and bustle  I tend to forget that this season is about adoration....adoring the King of Kings who laid down His life for my salvation. Not only is He a King but also my best friend, His name is Jesus.

Have you ever met a God who is so selfless? A God who sacrificed Himself so that we can have eternal life. A God who is always inviting us to have a relationship with Him. He is the ONLY God who is capable of having a relationship with us.

Truly His love for us is beyond comprehension. It is too deep for us to grasp. What an honour to have Him as my Daddy, my best friend, my first love, my comforter, my pilot, my deliverer, my teacher.

I must never forget that Christmas is celebrating the birth of Jesus. We celebrate a God who is pure LOVE. Thank you for coming into this world and redeeming us. :)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a crafty note, I may attempt to document December Daily..hmmmm. (after failing 3 years in a row). Well I am ambitious enough to prepare an album, we shall see how it goes. :)

Am loving the colour trend of December Daily in Studio Calico: Black, White & Red. An air of classy-ness eh? *winks*

And finally my beautiful tree is up. Lights are pretty, honestly, I can stare at it the whole night. Alrighty, its 1.00am, I should hit the sack soon.

If you are celebrating Christmas, I urge you to find out who this Jesus is. It is after all His birthday.

Good night.

Workspace Wednesday

Hello. I'm back.

My house is literally in a mess, rearranging and changing some things around. Its hard work but i love the results. Life is busy as a home maker, but my heart is filled with unexplainable joy. *big smiles*

I'm proud to say that my office/craft space is probably the cleanest at this point.

Today on my desk is this lovely stamp I won in a Instagram giveaway by Kellie Stamps. YAY! Thank you Kellie, really appreciate this win. It really stamps like butter and leaves a crisp image. If you haven't gotten her stamps, you gotta get some. Seriously, no regrets. :)

Sunlight creates a whole lot of difference to the photo. The first one was taken in the morning, and the photo below was taken last evening before 6pm.

Alrighty peeps, I'm off to prepare dinner (or in some places supper?) for the Mr. I sure hope I can have the time to craft or start a December daily album? *winks*

Wishing you a great Mid-week!

xoxo
